Six of the nine recent graduates of the Diocesan Certificate of Ministry (DCM) enrolled in the Diocesan Diploma of Ministry (DDM). This second round of DDM is conducted in Bahasa Malaysia and runs modularly.
The course kick-started with Hermeneutics by visiting tutor the Revd. Nelly Van Kampen of Malaysia Bible Seminary and Christian Spirituality by Ps Dr Judy Berinai. Tutorial and practical sessions were conducted by the Rev Canon Lin Khee Vun. The DDM students also joined the weekly preaching workshop and Holy Communion service for the Kota Kinabalu clergy and pastors.
At DDM level, students are immersed in a multi-faceted approach where they need to think critically, deliberate, research, and be hands-on in converting their classroom training into real-world application. The 3 weeks intensive residential study ended fruitfully with students inspired to think theologically and live prayerfully. The students are back serving in their parishes with assignments and are expected to do self-study. The next residential term will commence in June.
