Year Principal Development

1917

 

It was first founded as a Chinese medium primary school by the Anglican Mission.

1919-1927

Mr. Lim Nget Foo

The English medium primary school started during this period.

1927-1931

Rev. Vun Nen Vun

The primary school consisted of 3  wooden buildings with thatched roofing.

1931-1933

Rev. Chin Pui Yin

1933-1934

Mr. Ngui Yin Liong

During the Japanese Occupation the school had to close for 10 years and the education of teh local community was disrupted.

1951-1952

Rev. Vun Nen Vun

The school re-opened as an English medium primary school.

1952-1954 Mr. David Wong

1954-1957 Rev. W Newmarch

The first English medium secondary school started and additional class rooms were built.

1957-1965 Mr. James Power

A fully English medium secondary school started and additional class rooms were built.

1966-1975 Mr.  M George

In, 1964 a new site for the school was found in Mile 3 1/4, Kuhara Road. The new school building was officially declared open by Rt. Rev. Roland Koh, Bishop of Jesselton on 2 June 1966.

1975-1980 Mr. Koo Hon Syn

The school was headed by a former pupil. The enrolment rose to 930 students.

1980-1982

Mrs Yvonne Ching nee

Lim Khoon Chin

When Mr. Koo Hon Syn resigned on 31 August 1980, the school was overseen by a teacher. The school field was developed.

1982-1983

Mrs. Elizabeth Au Yong

The state Education Department appointed Mrs Au Yong as the new principal.

The School Hall Fund was started in 1986. Student enrolment had increased to 1104 and there were 2 sessions. In 1990, the school hall was completed and declared open by YB Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Chief Minister of Sabah, on 10 February 1990.

Organised a food-and-sun fair to raise fund for the school.

Air-conditioners were installed in the staff room, Guidance and Counseling Room and Prefects' Room.

Organised Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Puasa donation fund drive as well as 'Muzikarama' concert to raise fund for the school building projects.

Also carried out a 'Towards a conducive school environment' project.

Carried out renovation to staff room and school office.

Carried out beautification and development programme. Successfully completed the rebuilding of the whole school beginning with blocks 'Suria', 'Riadah', 'Mega' and 'Bayu'.
